Driven 2 Sew is the dream of a mother and daughter's love of sewing. My mother, likes to sew, just about anything.  Myself, I love quilting. I began quilting in 2005.  I started with a king size quilt for my mom's bed. I am self taught, though quilting runs in the family, as my mother's grandmother was named the "Queen of quilt-makers" in the late 1970's .  With help from the once local quilt shop and mom's constant reminder "practice makes perfect," i finished the quilt; now wanting to use up all of the fabrics from mom's stash, accumulated over the years.  I kept telling mom "we should have bought that quilt shop"  Finally about 5 years later, with help from Mom, Dad, an invester and many family and friends, the dream has come to life.  My brother designed a logo, which is used today (to the left).  The shop houses an HQ Fusion 24 long arm quilting system and two Janome sewing machines used for custom quilting, a colorful array of designer fabrics and patterns as well as room for classes and our lovely ladies who do mending, repairs and alterations including costume and clothing design. The name Driven 2 Sew was a quilting masterpiece in itself.  Driven, from my father's business (Steinbach Taxi). 2, a mother/daughter partnership and Sew, from the magic of quilting.  We hope to brighten the community with our creative ways of combining colours and patterns to make bold and beautiful works of art...quilts!
